Another way to identify faults is to not look up, but look down.

Take a look at the floor. Does it look like water may have caused damage? If so, chances are there is probably a leak, bringing through rain water and causing ongoing damages and potential slip hazards.

Other signs of roof failure could be water stains on the underside of the roof panels themselves. Now you may need to use access equipment to inspect the roof yourself at this point, however, it could be safer and more beneficial to allow a professional commercial roof contractor to take a look.

Always check the paintwork too. Are there air bubbles forming? If there are bubbles forming under the paint it could show that there is retained moisture present. Leaving this untreated can lead to cracks, serious leaks and the life span of your roof space significantly decreasing.

How to Complete Regular Roof Maintenance

Keep a regular maintenance report or log if you can. This will allow you to manage what happens and when. It will also give you a good chance to monitor any ongoing or regular roofing problems, allowing you to try and diagnose the cause.

A regular roof maintenance inspection should be completed when there has been a significant change in the weather conditions. For example, if you have recently had a number of serious thunderstorms with regular downpours, chances are, the roof has taken a lot of water.

Upon inspection, any signs of leaks or cracks, no matter how serious should be action and repaired immediately or as soon as possible.

Make sure that you remove any debris or items that could be clogging up the guttering system.
